Skin Tags Removal Treatment
Skin tags are one of the most common skin problems that people face with increasing age. Skin tags are small fleshy bumps that pop out of the skin, which may look like warts. These fleshy bumps are harmless and may vary in size and colour. Skin tags are usually found on the neck, armpit, under the breast, on eyelids, around the waistline and under the folds of buttocks.
Both men and women can get skin tags. They are more common in people with type 2 diabetes or in people with obesity. Skin tags grow in the body parts where skin rubs against itself. That is the reason skin tags mostly appear in a person who is overweight. Women may develop skin tags during their pregnancy time, due to the variations in hormones. Some people get skin tags without any reason as well.
How to remove a skin tag?
One can consider a skin tag removal if it causes any discomfort or affects one’s appearance and self-esteem. Sometimes, skin tags fall on their own if the cells die due to the insufficient blood supply. However, surgery is the best option to remove skin tag completely. During the surgery, local anesthesia is administered and the dermatologist removes the tag with sterile instruments.
What to expect after Skin tag removal?
The surgical procedure completely removes the fleshy bumps on the skin. Small redness and abrasion remain in the treated area until the healing is completed in 4-5 days without leaving scar or sequelae. Post procedure patient should follow the instruction given by the Doctor.
Do skin tags come back after the removal?
The treatment completely removes the skin tags and it is not likely to grow back in the same area where it is removed from.
