Laser Skin Resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure to reduce wrinkles, face lines, scars and other skin irregularities. The main reasons we develop these skin irregularities is aging, sun exposure, pollution and some cosmetics. Laser skin resurfacing helps to minimize these problems and make your skin look younger and healthier.

Laser skin resurfacing technique directs laser beams at the damaged skin and it precisely removes the skin layer by layer. The latest technology has helped the medical experts to treat the delicate areas of skin more precisely without damaging the surrounding tissues. Laser Skin Resurfacing procedure is also known as lasabrasion, laser peel or laser vaporization.

Types of lasers used in the procedure

Two types of lasers are mainly used in the laser resurfacing procedure. They are:

  • CO2 laser resurfacing- CO2 laser resurfacing is a technique that removes layers of damaged skin in the fractioned method. This method treats age spots, freckles, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven colour tone, and other skin abnormalities sharply without damaging the surrounding skin layers.
  • Erbium Laser Resurfacing- This laser technology is designed to remove moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face, hands, or neck without affecting the surrounding tissues. Erbium laser resurfacing may work better for people with darker skin.
